Literary analysis is not just about breaking literature down into theme, plot, setting, and so on; more importantly, it’s about putting it back together and deriving meaning from it. Through deep reading and discussion, you will learn to find interesting, original things to say about what you read.

 

Finally, I teach grammar and the mechanics of English (usage, sentence structure, punctuation, etc.) not as isolated skills but in the context of meaningful writing. When we care about what we’re saying, we care about how we say it.
